Volunteer Experience

She is actively involved in LULAC. She sits as the district 3 director for youth. She is constantly trying to better the community through service and get others around her to do the same. She has outstanding volunteer hours, with over 100 hours of service completed in her high school career, and she continues to build upon that. The hopes to increase the voter registration of the Latinos in the community and have a better representation for the upcoming election. She is constantly motivated to push herself to make her community better.

What challenges has she overcome?

She challenges herself to do well in school. The challenge of maintaining a GPA higher than a 3.5 is a challenge she has successfully over come every year. Other personal issues that she has endured have made her a stronger person, and grow as a leader in her family, school, and community, and I hope to see it grow to a national level one day.

What makes her a leader?

In the past, she has taken on the roles of secretary, president, and district director for LULAC. She has continued to move up in positions with every year she has participated in in LULAC. She steps up as a leader in the classroom by helping her peers and teachers.

What extra-curricular activities is she involved in?

Aside from LULAC, she is involved in Gay Straight Alliance club at school and National Honor Society. She is interested in business and management, and overall enjoys the presence of being around friends and family.

How is she a good example and positive role model to other girls?

She is a dedicated, motivated, and hardworking young woman. She pushes herself to be better everyday. Though she makes mistakes, those mistakes drive her to work harder to do better the next time around. She is almost always has a positive attitude and is an overall well rounded individual, and I believe she is a great role model for younger women to look up to.
