TEEN MEDIA ACADEMY
Calling all aspiring female journalists. Latinitas is hosting a week-long camps for high school girls with intensive instruction from media producers and university professionals. During the camp, you will complete an article, photo essay, audio segment and a video broadcast. As part of the camp, your work will be published on LatinitasMagazine.org. The academy fee is $25 and covers supplies and equipment. A limited number of scholarships are available. Pre-registration is required. CHICA POWER ACADEMY – TEEN LEADERS
Discover your leadership talents through our year-long leadership program. We are currently accepting applications from high school girls in grades 9-12 interested in developing their leadership potential. We are hosting a Chica Power Academy throughout the school year (October-April) with monthly workshops. Teen leaders in high school are wanted to act as peer leaders and mentor younger girls. The program features monthly workshops to help middle school girls learn about civic engagement, develop leadership techniques, explore social justice topics, connect with community leaders, attend field trips and organize volunteer projects. CHICAS ADVANCING IN MEDIA PROJECT
(EL PASO, TX – Summer 2014) Teen girls interested in learning how to express themselves creatively through photography, creative writing, art, audio production and film are invited to join Chicas Advancing in Media Project. This multimedia training program is for high school girls with a focus on creative multimedia expression. Girls will learn about self-expression through writing, photography, filmmaking, audio production, blogging and more. Our team will complete service projects to make an impact using media. Our team members will also write articles and create multimedia projects for publication in LatinitasMagazine.org.
