The Butterfly Effect Mother’s Day Celebration will be held on May 9. The event features lunch, spa day booths, live entertainment performances, a fashion show, inspirational guest speakers, tea party, games for girls and a silent auction. Our fundraiser is targeted towards local women leaders and designed to showcase female talent in El Paso as well as the young girls we serve.The funds generated from the event support our scholarship campaign. Sponsorship and booth opportunities are available. We gladly accept donations of silent auction items and door prizes. With every gift, we ensure more girls in El Paso are connected with valuable programs and mentors that motivate, educate and inspire them.

Join Latinitas in celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the organization! Photos on display will be for auction, while student work will be On Sale for $50 per print. This year, Guest of Honor Austin based producer Elizabeth Avellán will be in attendance. Elizabeth Avellan is the Co-Owner–with writer/director Robert Rodriguez–and Vice President of Troublemaker Studios and President of EYA Productions. She began her producing career when she co-founded Los Hooligans Productions in 1991. Her additional producing credits include DESPERADO, FROM DUSK TILL DAWN I, II & III, THE FACULTY, SPY KIDS I-IV, SIN CITY, PREDATORS, GRINDHOUSE, and MACHETE among others. Through her EYA Productions banner, she produced the recently wrapped holiday feature film, WHEN ANGELS SING, directed by Tim McCanlies, starring Harry Connick Jr., Willie Nelson and Connie Britton. THE LATINA LIST – Mujeres Making a Difference Awards Luncheon
During Hispanic Heritage Month, the Latina List launched a call for nominations of Latina leaders who are making an impact in the border community of the greater El Paso area. The Mujeres Making a Difference Awards Luncheon will be held in February 2014 at the Woman’s Club of El Paso with proceeds supporting scholarships for the next generation of Latina youth leaders. The Mujeres Making a Difference Awards give well-deserved recognition to Hispanic women who have made significant contributions to the empowerment and well being of the El Paso community. Submit your nomination for the Latina List – Due November 15th.
